The Volunteer Resource Network, facilitated by the Volunteer Center of South Jersey, helps South Jersey non-profits and community-minded businesses improve their volunteer management to meet their needs. This association provides a forum for learning, networking, idea exchange and open communication to any community member that actively manages volunteers.
VRN meets bi-monthly on the first Thursday of the month at varying locations. Meetings and events include topics of interest to volunteer program leaders, focusing on the four pillars of volunteer management: recruiting, utilization, recognition and retention.

Volunteer Resource Network’s 2016-17 Calendar:
September 15, 2016 – “Breakfast Club” Event! Don’t you…forget about volunteers! Volunteer Issue: RETENTION What brings a volunteer to your organization is one thing; however what will keep them there is another. Join an interactive panel discussion on how to welcome diversity, why treating a volunteer like a customer is key and other important ways to keep a volunteer coming back for more!
November 3, 2016 – “Advocate for yourself, at the workplace” – Volunteer management is challenging, rewarding and fun. Sometimes managers of volunteers feel underappreciated and not taken as seriously as others in our organizations. Having the confidence to speak up for yourself and to talk to your boss takes strategy and practice. This presentation will discuss ways to help you to build your confidence to approach your boss and advocate for yourself to get want you want. Guest Speaker: Lisa McGarr, MSHR is the Director of Volunteer and Hospitality Services at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ.
Membership is open to nonprofit and business organizations, community, faith-based and other volunteer program leaders.
