Michele Francesconi, VP Capacity Building, Training & Strategic Initiatives
As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
– Audrey Hepburn
Michele, formerly the Executive Director for the Volunteer Center of South Jersey, now serves as the Vice-President of Capacity Building Training and Strategic Initiatives at Jersey Cares. She brings a dynamic leadership style with expertise in startup firms and nonprofit organizations making vision become reality by utilizing best practice strategies in operations, sales, marketing, development and planning. Prior to her work with the Volunteer Center, Michele’s leadership skills helped to redefine and established a best practice nonprofit business model for the Gloucester County Special Services Education Foundation.
Since joining the volunteer center in 2015, Ms. Epifani has streamlined the volunteer-match process by investing new technologies to allow the center to grow and accommodate the seven counties in South Jersey that The Center serves. Today over 3,450 volunteers have registered on the site and continue to be connected to local nonprofits, while building their volunteer resume. This much needed implementation allows VCSJ to provide even more training and resources to volunteers and nonprofit agencies.
Before entering the nonprofit realm in 2013, she held executive leadership positions at several tech companies, both domestic and globally. Michele has also invested several years in Higher Education with Rowan University, South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University and, more recently, helped to establish an Events Position at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ.
