Every November on the Saturday before Thanksgiving we celebrate Family Volunteer Day. FVD a day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their communities and neighborhoods. Volunteering is a great way for kids and adults to make new friends, develop compassion for their neighbors, and even pick up a new skill or two!
VCSJ coordinates Nonprofit Fairs for this event at local malls and community spaces. Additionally, families are also encouraged to do a project at home or in their communities on this same day.
This years event is November 20, 2021, from 10am to 2pm at the Moorestown Mall in Burlington County. A number of local nonprofit agencies will be set up to talk to you about their organization. These agencies will also be providing family-friendly service projects and activities so you and your family/group can participate.
Every spring in May (the weekend before Memorial Day weekend) we join forces and grow our impact with volunteers and partners across the State. This event celebrates the power of families who work together to support their neighbors and neighborhoods. Hundreds of families use the day to teach children valuable real-life lessons about compassion and caring.
Family Volunteering can also be a great way for kids and adults to develop skills, learn more about their community and make new friends. Whether your passion is the environment, caring for animals, literacy, women and children, or working with veterans, your family can be part of this meaningful tradition.
